@Curly: People have been ice fishing on the Cove for many years and almost everyone knows each other. The only thing you need is a fishing license. You can bring a hut and install it within a designated area of the lake or if you want to be a loner you can bring it further onto the river. Whoever has a plow on his truck can help keep the "street" cleaned. Even if you don't have a hut, you can come and punch a hole in the ice and drop your line. When leaving though, you have to mark where your hole was so no one accidentally falls into it. The fishing season is from Jan. 1st to April 1st at which time you have 3 days to remove your hut.

@Eric Cousineau: Thanks Eric! Well it happened on Monday. In the winter the ferry doesn't run and it takes them an extra 1/2 hr to go around. So every year they have a road plowed across the river. They nickname it "The Hillbilly Highway" and it's not far from these ice huts. Well 2 pickup trucks fell through, the first fell in and he called his dad to help him take the truck out. His father came out and was about 200 feet from the first truck when his went in. Nobody was hurt.
